History
When the Hampton Place developer had its surveyors mapping out the new phase that is being currently built on, they found the remnants of an old cemetery. Upon further review it was found to be an old African American cemetery (1860-1920s) and is now considered a historic landmark in Charlotte (Jonahville Cemetery Site – 31MK1080**).
